Bio
Shawdy Nade, born Rachel Nyaama in 2002 December 29, is a South African rapper and songwriter originally from Zamdela in the Free State. With a passion for music ignited at a young age, she drew inspiration from icons such as the late HHP, ProKid, ProVerb, and Khuli Chana.
Her music journey began in 2017 at Trap Monk Records, where her debut single “FLEX” gained recognition within Zamdela’s local music scene. She has collaborated with respected producers including Cold-Blooded Beats and the late Master C, and her work has been featured on KARABO FM. Over the years, she has performed at venues such as Stone Bar Vereeniging and Golden Ash Park.
After a brief hiatus, Shawdy Nade relocated to Alexandra, Johannesburg — a move that reignited her passion and refined her artistic direction. Now operating under Zanziwave Records, she represents a bold new wave of female talent emerging from the township music scene.
In 2025, she was selected among the Top 20 songwriters/rappers to participate in the Hip Hop Summit held at the Hip Hop Museum in Newtown, Johannesburg.
Shawdy Nade released her first single under Zanziwave Records Pty (Ltd) on 4th March 2026 titled ALONE.
She has performed at Sawubona Music Jam in Soweto and recently released her debut single Alone on digital streaming platforms.
