Bio
Sean Joe Praise (Asifiwe Safari Joël) is a Congolese singer, songwriter, and performer blending tradi‑moderne sounds with Afrobeat and Afrofusion. Based in Goma, he sings in Mashi, Swahili, Lingala, French, and English, creating a multilingual bridge between tradition and modernity.
He has performed at major stages including the Institut Français de Bukavu, Bukavu’s Queen Festival, and IDURHU Festival. In addition to his performances, he volunteered at Amani Festival (Goma, 2023), assisting in the management of regional and international artists’ backstage areas, which strengthened his experience in cultural logistics and artist relations.
Sean Joe Praise won 2nd Prize in the national “Youth Against COVID‑19” contest with his song L’Après Corona. His singles Nanga Mashi (2023), Sakayonsa (2024), Kabibi 2.0 (2025), and Yasa (2026) have resonated across Bukavu, Goma, and the diaspora.
He is currently developing his first album and international project HONDI, a flexible solo format adaptable to DJs or festival musicians. HONDI celebrates Congolese heritage while promoting peace, love, and social cohesion through vibrant, inclusive performances.
