Lioness Mohoje

Lioness Mohoje stands as a distinguished artist hailing from South Africa. Her remarkable journey into the world of music commenced at a tender age of 15, when she took the helm of praise and worship leadership within her church. 

Embarking on a trajectory of growth and development, she found herself immersed in a youth empowerment initiative. This marked the inception of her radio career, where she initially captivated audiences as an opinionated news reader before ascending to her very own radio show. Throughout this phase, her ardour for music remained unwavering as she bestowed aspiring artists with the platform to introduce their craft to the airwaves for the first time. 

With years of fostering emerging talent under her belt, Lioness Mohoje has now assumed her rightful place, allowing her resonant voice to resonate through what she dubs "Afro Blues." Her musical creations are a poignant reflection of her own life's tapestry and the narratives of those who surround her. In 2019, her inaugural official single, "Ba dumetse," featuring the prolific DJ and producer Mobi Dixon, garnered resounding acclaim. 

Lioness Mohoje has graced diverse stages spanning the nation, encompassing esteemed events such as the SATMAs, Moshito Music Conference, Tlokwe Jazz Festival, and the Basadi in Music Awards – where she paid tribute to the legendary Mam Abigail Kubeka. Furthermore, her presence illuminated the illustrious 23rd Joy of Jazz festival as a featured artist among numerous others. 

In November 2022, this distinguished songstress unveiled her debut EP, titled "Dipotso," a masterpiece now available across various digital platforms. In an accolade that further underscores her prowess, Lioness Mohoje secured two nominations at the 2023  Basadi in Music Awards, heralding her stature as a contender for AfroPop Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
