Ayo Awosika

Ayo Awosika is a Nigerian-American soul singer. She was born to a Nigerian father and a mother from the US. Growing up Awosika was influenced by Fela, Michael Jackson, Billie Holiday and Madonna.
A singer-songwriter, Awosika plays with a five-piece band. In 2009, she released an EP titled Hearts, Words And Other Forgotten Things. She relocated relocated to New York City in 2013, and working on her debut album, writing, as she says, “about the experience of transitioning into ‘true adulthood’”.

A single ‘We Best Not Wait’, was released early 2015. She has performed in a number of Nigerian events including The Lagos Jazz Series.
