Mashombe Blue Jeans

Mashombe Blue Jeans is a Zambian music group well-known for singing kalindula music. Based in the Southern Province of Zambia, the music ensemble sings and plays a style of Zambian music that blends traditional and modern musical materials.

The music ensemble has so far released a number of cassettes as a result of their collaboration with Chikuni Radio station.

Their music has been recognized in the country’s music circles and their reputation has received a considerable boost from their association with the Tonga Music Festival sponsored by Chikuni Radio Station. Like other popular Zambian groups, they have made appearances at the Ngoma Music Awards, Zambia's main music award ceremony.
The Livingstone-based group has received news coverage in almost all Zambia's national newspapers. In 2004, they were mentioned in the National Assembly of Zambia.
