Fatou Sow

Bio

Fatou Sow is an artist manager from France.

Sow has 20 years of international experience in the fields of music, marketing and event production.

After 15 years working in major record companies in the United-States (Polygram Records – now Universal Records – Warner Music Group, EMI Recorded Music), in 2004, Fatou Sow creates her own management and production company, Slingshots Music. Slingshots Music handles artists and repertoire, image development, production and business affairs for its clients, interfacing with multiple entities in order to organize the development of the artist’s sound and image (recordings, photo and video sessions), the marketing, promotion and public relations so as to best define, establish and protect the artist’s image and identity. Previous clients include Cypress Hill, Ayo and Jain.

In 2010, Slingshots Music answers a call from United States government through the agency IMG World. Fatou Sow benefits from a unique profile as a well-traveled African woman, with extensive experience and relationships with international entertainment groups, numerous sound technicians and sound companies, and P.R., marketing and promotions agencies.

Slingshots organizes a concert series for Peace, Tolerance and Understanding as part of a cultural exchange between the United States and Senegal and involving top Senegalese artists such as Youssou N’Dour, Baba Maal and Positive Black Soul. Two U.S. shows are followed by a massive concert gathering more than 50,000 attendees at Dakar’s Stade de l’Amitié. Fatou Sow also produces a three-minute news report and a 13-minute documentary on the U.S. part of the series.

In 2016, Fatou Sow produces Festival Acoustik Bamako, in Bamako, Mali. She collaborates with Grammy Award-winning Kora player Toumani Diabaté to gather African and western musicians, such as Damon Albarn, Tony Allen, Songhoy Blues, and The Ali Farka Touré Band, as well as fine arts and living arts artists, to promote culture as a vector for development. This non-profit initiative leads to Akon’s Lighting Africa providing solar energy to the mythical griot village of Kirina.

Fatou Sow has constructed a founding team made of professionals respected internationally in their given fields.
