Call for applications: National School of the Arts music teacher in SA
The National School of the Arts (NSA) is calling on music teachers with piano as a first instrument to send applications to teach at the school in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Successful applicants will teach Grade 8 to 12 pupils.
The successful applicant:
- Must manage the CAPS Grade 8 to 12 WAM syllabus.
- Must teach piano lessons.
- Must be competent in piano accompaniment and assist with Eistedfodds, ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) examinations and competitions.
- Must email a detailed CV, along with a cover letter and the contact details of three referees to music@artschool.co.za.
Short-listed candidates will be required to teach a harmony and accompaniment lesson.
“An SGB music post is available from January 2020 at the National School of the Arts,” the NSA said. “The successful candidate must be an experienced and well-qualified teacher who holds an appropriate professional teaching qualification and is registered with South African Council for Educators.”
The application deadline is 10 November.
