Menna Mulugeta

Bio

Menna Mulugeta was born in 1991 in Wiesbaden, Germany. As her name suggests, she has roots in a distant country. Her parents are Ethiopian and met in Germany as students of pharmacology. After Menna's birth, the family moved to the wine-village, Weiler, near Bingen on the Rhine, where Menna and her younger sister grew up.

It was there that Menna discovered her talent in various artistic areas and developed with the support of her parents. Menna found her passion and unusual talent for music at the age of ten, through local and school theater, and talent contests. She gained stage experience through countless performances with yearly carnival productions featuring her as a soloist, and at weddings, birthdays, festive events and concerts.

A notable highpoint of her career was her participation in the second season of the talent show 'The Voice of Germany.' During the show, produced in Berlin, she sang herself into the hearts of millions of television viewers. Out of thousands of applicants, Menna made it into the team of German pop star, Nena, and was voted by a television audience of 5 million viewers into the last sixteen talents of the show.

An early benchmark of her development years was a song contest „Voice Vision" in 2005, a statewide competition which she won when she was only fourteen years old, competing with older contestants. Since that time, she has appeared often as a guest speaker and soloist in numerous television talk shows and live music broadcasts in Germany.
