LKT is the stage name of Nigerian singer Olalekan Babatunde Olayade. Born to parents from Osun state in South-west Nigeria, LKT began music as a fuji musician. It was in 2007, helming a verse on Olu Maintain’s ‘Yahooze’, that he was brought to a wider public based on the song’s popularity at the time. That success buoyed his career and by 2011, he released ‘Follow Follow’, a high-tempo love song featuring the twin duo P-Square. His song Alaye received significant airplay and the remix featured singer Davido.

LKT has said that he had to ‘blend hip-hop and R&B into’ fuji because the genre was perceived as crass. His much awaited debut ‘The Journey’ was released in 2013 and curiously in an album of several guest spots excluded Olu Maintain.

LKT, however, played down rumours of a rift, saying, ‘when the time comes, we will certainly work again’. It was released by Edlyne Records and features P Square, 9ice, Davido, Vector, K Switch, Olamide, and Jaywon.
