Thought Portal

Thought Portal is Ugandan-Australian hip hop duo based in Kampala.

A hip-hop collaboration between Ugandan emcee O.T. Suspect and Australian artist Treebeard MC, Thought Portal are one of the many up-and-coming hip-hop projects coming out of Kampala's vibrant underground hip-hop community.

Suspect is a rapper so underground he’s practically lava, and like a volcano he effortlessly spits hot flows. Treebeard brings a flow as deep in old school hip-hop references, as it is conscious in it’s content. It's like these two emcees are sages sent from the past to poetically remind us what we have forgotten.

Treebeard's lyrical depth perfectly compliments Suspect's complex Lugaflow rhymes, and their on-stage chemistry reflects their strong friendship and creative-alignment. Thought Portal's music channels archetypal truths and drops timeless wisdom. These men are well grown, and their music displays a level of experience and maturity usually lacking in popular music.

Thought Portal have teamed up with Kampala producer Nase Avataŕ (UG Hip Hop Awards Producer of the Year 2018 and 2019) to so far record two albums. Thought Portal Vol.1 has been released via Whatsapp in April 2020, and the next instalment, Thought Portal Vol. 2 is on its way!
