Bio

Martse (real name Martin Nkhata) was a hip-hop musician and producer from Malawi.

He sustained severe injuries after the house he was sleeping in caught fire on 20 May. He was treated at Blantyre’s Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where he later died on 23 May.

He joined the music industry in 2004. His love for music was highly influenced by Mphatso Katopola aka Dzimbiri of the now defunct Khamradzi. this prompted him to work on a mix-tape called ‘Raps and Dances’. The mixtape features 3 tracks namely ‘Mfana Otenthadi’, ‘Eya Zikutheka’ and ‘Go deeper’.

In October 2014, he released a single called 'Zikumpweteka'. the single featured dancehall artist Mafo. He also featured on Gwamba's song 'Zikuvuta'. Some of his popular songs include ‘Zikomo’, ‘Mwano’, ‘Tchwe’, ‘Woloka’, ‘Banja’, ‘Go Deeper’ and ‘Malume’, among others. He has worked with artists such as Fredokiss, Kelly Kay, Nepman, Magic Mike, Hyphen and BarryUno.
