StarDust

Established in 2008, StarDust is a female music duo from Namibia that consists of Muni Hoveka and Breanna Kandanga. The two are full-time students at the University of Namibia. They became friends when they were 12. At 13 their friendship cemented upon writing their first song, which was never released until they met label owner Djodic ‘Antonio’ Dragan.

They later signed to Deal Done Records and released their debut album ‘StarDust’ in December 2014. The album comprises of songs such as ‘Lights’, ‘Buff’, 'Amazing Grace' and ‘In Your Arms’. The ten-track album is a fusion of gospel, hip-hop, reggae, house and RnB and was produced by Arafat Muhuure and Maj Beatz. It features the Zambian singer Petersen Zagaze and local hip-hop artist Jay-J. In May 2015, they were nominated in four categories at the NAMAs and managed to win three: Best Duo/Group, Best Reggae (for ‘Calling on You’) and Best House (for ‘Lights’).
