Stanley Masona

Stanley Ananias Masona is a singer and composer who plays various instruments: guitar, drums and keyboards. He was born in 1973 in Marondera into a musical family and was first taught how to play guitar at the age of 8 by his elder brother, Dr Victor Munyaradzi Masona. He formed his first group, Riddim Junior, at the age of 14 with Dennis Teguru, Jese Chigaweni and Marco. They twice opened shows for the Bhundu Boys in the late 90s at Rudhaka Stadium.

To date he has recorded two albums and is currently working on his third. He identifies his music as 'Hana' (heartbeat or pulse), basically a form of classical Afro-fusion. Although music is his passion, he also holds a Higher National Diploma in Plastics Technology.
