Award-winning Nigerian DJ and producer DJ Neptune has released a remix of Crown Ape’s single Who Dat Girl?, reworking the track into an amapiano and Afro-house-inspired version titled ‘Who Dat Girl? II’.

The remix features BOJ and shifts the focus away from the rap-driven elements of the original release towards a more dance-oriented sound. The new version combines amapiano and afro-house influences with percussion, bass guitar, synthesisers and electronic drum patterns.
Originally released by Crown Ape, ‘Who Dat Girl? II’ blended Afro-fusion with European street rap influences, drawing together musical elements from Lagos, London and Frankfurt. The remix adopts a different approach, placing greater emphasis on melody, groove and atmospheric production.
Running for approximately four and a half minutes, ‘Who Dat Girl? II’ centres on BOJ’s vocal performance while retaining the original song’s themes of attraction and curiosity. The production introduces a more club-focused sound designed for dancefloor settings.
The release adds to DJ Neptune’s extensive catalogue of work spanning Afro-beats, hip hop, R&B, house and dancehall music. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with several leading African artists, including Rema, Joeboy, Omah Lay and Davido.
Born and raised in Lagos, DJ Neptune has also held production and A&R roles within the Nigerian music industry. Among his career milestones is becoming the first Nigerian DJ to perform at the South by Southwest festival in the United States. He also served as A&R for Super C Season, the award-winning album by Naeto C.
‘Who Dat Girl? II’ is the latest release to emerge from Crown Ape’s Afro-European music project and reflects the growing influence of amapiano and Afro-house sounds within contemporary African and global dance music.
