Blending the rich traditions of Ghanaian highlife with contemporary Afrobeats, hiplife and R&B influences, he has carved out a distinctive sound that honours his roots while embracing modern musical trends.
Raised between Accra and Kumasi, RCee developed a passion for music at an early age, writing songs and performing throughout his school years. His talent and vocal style quickly drew comparisons to iconic highlife legend Daddy Lumba, laying the foundation for a career built on authenticity, storytelling and cultural pride.
RCee first introduced himself to audiences with the release of "Odo Colour" in 2017. Following a brief period focused on his studies, he returned to music with renewed purpose, releasing "Made in Ghana" in 2022 and positioning himself as part of the movement revitalising highlife for a new generation of listeners.
His music seamlessly combines the melodic guitar work and rhythmic foundations of traditional highlife with Afrobeat percussion, reggae influences and contemporary R&B sensibilities. Inspired by artists such as George Darko, Akon and Alpha Blondy, RCee delivers songs that are both culturally grounded and globally accessible. His mellow yet commanding vocal delivery explores themes of love, perseverance, personal growth and resilience.
In 2024, he released his debut EP, How Did We Get Here, a project that showcased his artistic depth through standout tracks such as Blessing, She and Knees and Bend. He continued his upward trajectory with the release of Young Daddy in 2026, featuring collaborations with M.anifest and Mellissa, further expanding his reach within the African music landscape.
As one of the emerging voices shaping the future of Ghanaian music, RCee represents a bridge between heritage and innovation.
