Mona Nicastro is an Angolan Kizomba and Guetho Zouk artist, dancer, and performer from Luanda. Before establishing himself as a recording artist, Mona Nicastro first built his name in Angola’s entertainment industry as a dancer, developing a strong stage presence that would later shape his musical performances. Growing up in Luanda’s vibrant urban culture, he became deeply influenced by the sounds of Kizomba, semba, and modern Afro-pop, eventually blending these styles into a sound that balances romance, rhythm, and contemporary African production.
Mona Nicastro officially launched his professional music career around 2013, gaining early attention through songs such as “O Teu Toque.” His breakthrough continued with the release of his debut album Contos de Fada in 2016, which helped establish him as one of the notable modern voices in Angola’s Kizomba scene. Over the years, Mona Nicastro has collaborated with several well-known Angolan artists, including the pop group B4 on the remix of “O Teu Toque,” as well as Young Double on the song “Mulher Maravilha.” These collaborations helped broaden his audience across Angola and other Portuguese-speaking African countries.
