Mikhalé Jones

Bio

Mikhalé Jones is a South African singer-songwriter known for her soulful voice, captivating performances and deeply personal approach to music. Hailing from a farm in the south of Johannesburg, she began her creative journey as a dancer and choreographer before expanding her artistry to include drums and guitar. With a sound rooted in neo-soul and R&B, Mikhalé draws inspiration from artists such as Ciara and Kehlani, while carving out a style that feels both emotionally rich and unmistakably her own.

Previously signed to Def Jam Africa before later going independent, Mikhalé has spent years navigating the music industry on her own terms. Her debut project, It Is What It Is, earned her a South African Music Award nomination for Best R&B and Soul Album in 2022, while her second album, Too Many Promises, marked a bold reclaiming of her artistic independence. In January 2024, she also won the MTN Pulse Virals talent competition, taking home a R200 000 prize and renewed momentum for the road ahead.
