Bio
Ch’cco, whose real name is Shiko Matlebjane, is a fast-rising South African singer, songwriter, and amapiano vocalist known for his smooth delivery and genre-blending sound. He was born in Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa, and also spent part of his upbringing in Mamelodi, Pretoria, influences that helped shape his musical style and identity.
Ch’cco began his music career around 2019, initially exploring rap before transitioning into amapiano, where he found his signature sound. His breakthrough came with the hit single “Nkao Tempela” alongside Mellow & Sleazy, which became a platinum-certified track and a viral success across South Africa.
Following his rise, he continued to build momentum with popular songs like “Pele Pele”, “Banyana Ke Bafana”, and “Dzepa”, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the amapiano scene. His music is known for blending catchy melodies, street-inspired storytelling, and the distinctive log drum rhythms that define the genre.
