Blanche Bailly
Bio
Born in Kumba, Blanche Bailly is a popular Cameroonian Afropop singer, songwriter and actress, known for hits such as “Kam We Stay” (2016) and “Mimbayeur”. She relocated to France at the age of 12, where she became bilingual — an influence that continues to shape her music.
Her journey to success was not without challenges. After navigating a difficult period in France, she emerged as a prominent independent artist, blending French, English and Pidgin to create a distinctive sound that resonates across Central Africa. She initially performed under the name Swagger Queen in London before rebranding as Blanche Bailly and releasing her breakout single “Kam We Stay” in 2016, which gained widespread popularity.
She is recognised for her smoky vocals and her fusion of Afropop, dancehall and R&B. Her catalogue includes notable tracks such as “Bon Bon”, “Mes Respects” and “Ndolo”. As an independent artist, Bailly has built a successful career, producing hit songs without the backing of a major label.
In 2023, she made her acting debut in the film The Kujus Again. She continues to release music and expand her presence within the African entertainment industry.
