Nigerian singer Morravey has released a new single titled ‘My Lover’, marking her latest step in a career that has gained momentum both locally and internationally.

The Port Harcourt-born artist first gained wider recognition after being discovered by Davido, who featured her on his Grammy-nominated album Timeless. She appeared on the track ‘In The Garden’, introducing her to a broader audience within the Afrobeats scene.
Morravey later released her debut EP RAVI, which recorded the highest first-day streams for a female EP on Spotify Nigeria at the time of its release. The project included the single ‘Ifineme’, which gained significant traction on social media, generating more than 1.8 billion views on TikTok and receiving support from artists such as Ayra Starr and Don Jazzy.
Her growing profile has been reflected in live performances at venues including the O2 Arena in London and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. She has also been featured on industry platforms such as Africa Rising by Apple Music and YouTube Foundry.
Prior to the release of ‘My Lover’, ‘Morravey’ collaborated on the track ‘Galorizzy’, which blended Afrobeats and amapiano elements and featured Davido alongside other artists.
The new single explores themes of relationships and emotional clarity, with a focus on melodic delivery and a more restrained vocal style. According to accompanying materials, the release also introduces a new visual direction, incorporating imagery linked to growth and transformation.
Morravey’s music spans multiple genres, including Afrobeats, R&B and amapiano, and she has been identified as part of a new generation of artists shaping the evolving sound of African pop music.
