Supa Ced
Bio
Supa Ced, born Cedric Nicholas Badiane on 23 September 1986 in Dakar, Senegal, is a Senegalese-Portuguese rapper, producer, actor, and television host known for his dynamic presence in the West African hip-hop scene. Raised in Dakar, he developed an early interest in music and urban culture, shaped by both local Senegalese influences and international hip-hop sounds. His multicultural heritage has played a significant role in defining his artistic voice, allowing him to bridge African and global music styles.
He began his music career in Dakar, gradually establishing himself as a versatile entertainer with a distinctive “dirty south” rap influence—an uncommon but refreshing sound within Senegalese hip-hop. As both a rapper and producer, Supa Ced built a reputation through releases such as “Beautiful Day,” “Dalila,” “Nigga What,” “Dama Busy,” and projects like “The Ocean Tape” and “This Is My Life.” His work reflects a blend of personal storytelling, street culture, and contemporary rap aesthetics. He has also collaborated with notable artists including Omzo Dollar, Canabasse, and Lil Joe, further cementing his place in the local music industry.
Beyond music, Supa Ced has expanded into media and entrepreneurship. He is the CEO of HA2N Records, where he contributes to the development of emerging talent, and has also gained recognition as a television host on the show “My Star My Life” on 2Stv, connecting audiences with prominent figures in entertainment. His active presence on platforms like Instagram and TikTok has helped him maintain a strong connection with fans while growing his influence across digital spaces.
In 2018, Supa Ced’s life took a dramatic turn following a near-fatal motorcycle accident in Dakar. The crash, which occurred on 2 April, left his left arm permanently paralysed. This moment marked a significant transformation in his life and career. Embracing what he describes as a “rebirth,” he has since used his platform to advocate for road safety, particularly against driving under the influence, and to inspire others through his resilience and determination. His message, often shared under the hashtag #LeCombatContinue (“The fight continues”), has become central to his identity as both an artist and public figure.
Today, Supa Ced stands as a symbol of perseverance and reinvention within the African music industry. With a career that spans music, media, and entrepreneurship, he continues to influence a new generation of artists while using his story to inspire hope, discipline, and purpose.
