Your Weekly Touch Up is a vibrant live music experience held every Wednesday at Mamakashaka & Friends in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. We’re dedicated to building a community of like-minded music lovers and creators, specifically in the often-overlooked alternative music scene. Neo-Soul, Jazz, Alternative Hip Hop, and R&B fans gather weekly to immerse themselves in intimate performances, curated by South African hip hop artist ByLwansta and resident DJ Al da 3rd.

In a landscape where alternative music is underrepresented in traditional South African media like radio and TV, Your Weekly Touch Up fills a vital gap. Over the past 13 months, we’ve hosted more than 100 musicians and DJs, fostering a space for artists to collaborate, experiment, and thrive. As our community grows, so does the energy in the room, creating an electric atmosphere for everyone who joins.
