Kopano Mosiane, better known as KeyPoint was born the 14th of March 1998 in Nelspruit and was raised in Philip Nel Park, a suburb in the western parts of Pretoria, South Africa.

Introduced to music at the impressionable age of 3, KeyPoint grew up exposed to the likes of Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, Mariam Makheba, Brenda Fassie and Whitney Houston through his mother, Hugh Masekela, Sechaba, Bob Marley through his father.

KeyPoint developed his own taste of music by the likes of Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind and Fire, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G, Wu - Tang Clan, Chamillionaire, J-Dilla, 9th Wonder, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, Chingy and Jay-Z to newer generation icons like Lil Wayne, Eminem, Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Rapsody, Mick Jenkins, Kanye West, Flying Lotus, Drake, Chris Brown, Flume, Hit-Boy, Dj Dahi, Sounwave and Metro Boomin.

He has also been influenced by South African icons such as HHP, Proverb, Prokid, Khuli Chana, Skwatta Kamp, POC, Goddessa, Teargas, Mzekezeke, Mandoza, Ganja Beatz, to newer generation icons such as Riky Rick, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Reason, Anatii, Kwesta, K.O., Dj Sliqe, Zoocci Coke Dope, Dj Dimplez, Dj Capital, Dj Milkshake, Dj Vigilante and Dj Citi Lytes.

KeyPoint started making beats at the age of 12 on a program called Music Maker jam, he then moved to using FL Studio in high school which he currently uses full time, he is also well-versed in Cubase and Pro Tools.

He started gaining popularity in high school making beats, working with the local acts during the time, this later on lead to getting his first placement with local artist Calvin Frank, this lead to a chain reaction of placements with, Rhubay, Barkoa, KingPin, Jamai Bless, bilmar, Guluveli, Prodiiiiiii and Zack Vyler just to name a few of the ever growing list.

KeyPoint released his heavily anticipated 6 track beat tape, 'Keys On Point' which received critical acclaim.

KeyPoint's sound although is not not limited but alludes to an ethereal and elusive noir undertone which consists of keys, pads, heavy basslines and hard-hitting drums.
