Open call: 2026 Modzi Arts residency programme in Lusaka
Modzi Arts, a Lusaka-based institution promoting Zambian art and culture since 2016, has opened applications for its 2026 residency programme. The initiative is designed to support artists across disciplines and provide opportunities for creative exchange, research, and experimentation.
Application deadline is 29 March.
About the residency
The residency is hosted at Modzi Arts’ restored 1970s facility, which includes:
- Two galleries and a Zamrock museum
- Performance and DJ studios

Residents are encouraged to engage in exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, and public presentations throughout the programme. Up to four artists can be hosted simultaneously, each with an individual studio. Accommodation for three residents is available on-site.

Residents are expected to present their work weekly, with final presentations taking various forms, including exhibitions, readings, performances, or open studios.
