Ayman Alatar
Bio
Ayman Alatar (born March 6, 1982, in Tripoli, Libya) is a celebrated Libyan pop singer, rising to fame after winning the second season of the pan-Arab TV talent show SuperStar in 2004. He began singing at a young age, earning early recognition by winning the Libyan Song Festival in 2001.
Known for his performances in the Khaliji (Gulf) dialect, Alatar has released albums under the prominent label Rotana. His debut album, Bahibak (2005), marked the start of a successful musical career, followed by notable works such as Hal El Awadem (2014) and the mini-album Fi Galbi Kalam (2016), featuring high-profile music videos that expanded his regional appeal.
Alatar’s accolades include the 2015 Septimius Tripoli Award for Best Artist, and nominations for Best Artist of North Africa at the 2016 Kora Awards and Afrima Awards. Despite not being a native Khaliji speaker, he is praised for his authentic renditions and versatile vocal style, which have earned him a loyal following across the Arab world.
