A call for applications has been launched for a mobility grant to support individual artists and cultural professionals in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. This grant is part of the Sub-Saharan Africa, Connect & Create component of the Africa-Europe Cultural Partnerships program, implemented by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with Expertise France and the Institut français.
The deadline for submitting applications is March 15th.

Program overview
Total program budget: €8 million
Duration: 42 months (2025–2028)
Objective: to foster dialogue, cooperation and peer learning between African and European cultural actors
Emphasis on co-creation, professional exchanges and partnerships on an equal footing
Target audiences
Artists and cultural professionals from sub-Saharan Africa and the European Union, with particular attention to:

Objective and scope
Support for short-term professional mobility, primarily within sub-Saharan Africa.
Secondarily, support for mobility between sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
European applicants must have an established partnership with an African partner.
African applicants travelling to Europe must have an established European partner.
Goals
Strengthening peer learning and professional networks;
enabling research, co-creation and collaborative artistic projects;
fostering access to new markets, audiences and professional contexts;
building sustainable intra-continental and intercontinental cultural partnerships

Employees or immediate family members of the Goethe-Institut, Expertise France, the French Institute or the European Commission

Entities subject to EU restrictive measures

Applicants previously excluded from EU-funded projects
Application type
Individual applications only.
Applications from multiple people involved in the same activity will be evaluated separately.
Group or ensemble mobility is not supported under this scheme.

Artistic and professional development

co-creation or co-development with international partners;
participation in residencies, mentorships or structured learning programs;
development of international professional relationships;
cultural exchanges and networking

Budgetary conditions
