The initiative is aimed at providing selected artists with increased visibility and developmental support both on the streaming platform and through external opportunities.
The 2026 edition introduces a new group of artists drawn from a range of musical styles, including rap, French pop, R&B and bouyon. The selected acts are Sierra Leonean rapper Timar French, Fallon (France) and Heroe (France).
Deezer head of editorial, discovery and trends Georges Derval said the platform would support the artists throughout the year. “To kick off 2026, we are delighted to announce the arrival of Timar French, Fallon and Heroe to our Deezer Next programme. We look forward to continuing to support their development throughout the year, in the app, on social media and beyond, and we can’t wait to see them reach new audiences,” he said.
Timar, a rapper from Créteil, is known for music that explores themes of pain, redemption and personal reflection. His debut album, Requiem, presents a cinematic sound marked by detailed production and introspective lyrics.
Fallon draws on her Caribbean background and describes her musical style as “RnBouyon”, blending elements of R&B and bouyon. Her work combines melodic songwriting with energetic rhythms, as heard in tracks such as Normal and Memories.
Heroe, based in Normandy, produces bedroom pop influenced by indie music. Her songs combine guitar-led arrangements with lyrics in French and Arabic, focusing on intimate and reflective themes.
Deezer Next provides participating artists with prominent placement on the platform, including features on the app’s homepage and inclusion in a dedicated editorial playlist. Additional support includes promotion across Deezer’s social media channels, opportunities to appear at partner festivals and live performances for listeners at the Purple Door Deezer Next event scheduled for December.
The programme is curated by Deezer’s editorial teams, who identify emerging talent and coordinate efforts to expand their audience reach both online and at live events.
