Bio
Liloca’s full name is Luísa Zélia Sebastiana da Graça Madade. She was born on April 29, 1985 in Tete, Mozambique and is a singer and songwriter. Her music blends Afro, Marrabenta and Afro House styles, and she is known for energetic performances and songs that celebrate Mozambican culture.
She developed a passion for dance at a young age and later founded her own dance school called Sweet Dance. Before starting her music career she worked as a dancer for Mozambican artist MC Roger. In 2006 she began recording music, releasing her first song Como Ela Dança and then the track Muyive, which became popular. Liloca’s first album Tic Tac é Meu Style was released in 2007, followed by Magnífica in 2009 and Mulher Moçambicana in 2012.
Over the years she has won several national music awards and is widely regarded as one of Mozambique’s most important contemporary female artists. She often performs across the country and her songs reflect themes of celebration, cultural identity and empowerment.
Liloca lives in Maputo and continues to be a major figure in Mozambican music, sometimes being called the singer of the people for her strong connection with audiences.
