Rachel Chakwa Mwewa, (23 May 1991) whose stage name is Xaven and is belovedly known as the Kopala Queen, is a Zambian rapper and singer. Her music represents the creativity, and vibrant dance culture of Kopala. She brings a rich originality and storytelling to her music and her Kopala genre blends Bemba drum patterns with Afrobeats, and Amapiano. She has a powerful lyrical prowess and captivating stage presence and her music deals with themes of empowerment, ambition, and resilience.
Xaven was drawn to rap from an early age. She started professionally pursuing music right after finishing high school in 2015. Despite an industry that has not always welcomed women, her confidence, lyrical skill, and commanding voice quickly set her apart, making her one of the fastest-rising rappers in Zambia and she even recieved a feature on BBC News Africa.
With a steady-rise in her career, she is leading the way and redefining the possibilities for women in hip-hop.
