Thuli P

Thulisile Phongolo, otherwise known as Thuli P, is a South African actress, DJ, and artist. She was born on 22 January 1994 and grew up in Soweto, Gauteng. She attended Allen Glen High School in Roodepoort. After matriculating, she began her tertiary education at the University of Johannesburg, where she graduated with a degree in Strategic Marketing Communications. 

She began her acting career in 2012 when she played the role of Zama in Tshisha, a SABC 1 series. The following year, 2013, she joined eTV’s Craze-e. In 2014, she got her biggest role as Namhla Diale on the popular South African series Generations: The Legacy. After a seven-year hiatus, she returned to the series in 2025. Another noticeable role is when she featured on the popular show The Wife in 2021. 

After establishing her acting career, she decided to venture into the music industry when she became a DJ in 2017. Her reputation as an actress and an influencer helped her quickly become an in-demand DJ. She has performed at various events and locations across South Africa. In 2025, she finally released her debut single “Hai Suka” featuring artists such as Nia Pearl and Kay Invictus. 

Beyond music and films, she is an established businesswoman with successful businesses in various industries. She launched her own fashion line called TULIP in 2017. She established her own record label, Avana Records, under which she released her debut single. She also has investments in various properties. 

Still only 31 years old as of 2025, she managed to achieve so much in the past decade and still has so much more to achieve.
