Born as Thulani Zitha, Gondi Boy comes from Mavalani village (Giyani, Limpopo), South Africa, Gondi Boy grew up with a love for music and culture that would eventually shape his artistry. Though details about his early life and upbringing remain private, it's clear that his roots influence the style and flavour of the music he makes today, a dynamic blend of dance, modern beats, and the vibrant energy of South African township rhythms.

As a musician, Gondi Boy came into wider view around 2023, when he released his album Swa Weekend (2023), a 10‑track project that helped introduce his sound to a growing audience. (Since then, he’s followed up with a number of singles, including Belo (feat. Papa Rhulani) in 2024, and Ntshamisekile in 2025. His 2025 releases further signal that he’s dedicated to evolving his sound and maintaining momentum. 

With a style that leans heavily into dance and electronic‑dance vibes, fused with South African musical sensibilities, Gondi Boy has carved out a space for himself within the contemporary SA music scene. He’s collaborated with other artists and producers, showing versatility and willingness to experiment, which helps broaden his appeal beyond a single genre or audience.
