Bio
Dlala Thukzin, born Thuthuka Wandile Zindlovu in Lamontville in Durban, is a South African DJ and producer known for his distinct blend of gqom, amapiano, afro tech and 3 step. He developed an interest in music at a young age while helping his uncle transport DJ equipment for local events. This early exposure inspired him to learn production and build his identity as an artist rooted in Durban’s club culture.
He gained national attention in 2016 when he produced Babes Wodumo’s track “Umngan’wami” from her album Gqom Queen, Vol. 1. This opened the door to a growing career where he refined a sound that is rhythmically driven, energetic and instantly recognisable. His breakthrough as a solo artist came with the release of Phuze in 2021. The song achieved Gold certification and its remix later reached Platinum status.
In 2023 his single iPlan from the EP Permanent Music 3 became one of the biggest hits in South Africa. It reached number one on major local streaming charts and on Billboard’s South Africa Songs chart. It also received double Platinum certification, confirming his impact across dance floors, radio and streaming platforms.
