Known as Mzukulu, Sfanele Dumisani Zulu is a South African Maskandi singer-songwriter from KwaCeza, KwaZulu-Natal. Born into a family with deep Maskandi roots, he is the grandson of Zimele “Geja” Buthelezi and son of late performers Phumangelakhe and Thuleleni Buthelezi, inheriting a rich musical legacy.
He began performing in 2010 and gained wider recognition with his debut album Vukani Nonke. In 2025, his album Ngifuna Intozami garnered over 700,000 Spotify streams in just two days, cementing his position as a leading contemporary Maskandi artist.
Mzukulu’s music blends traditional Zulu storytelling with modern sensibilities, exploring themes of love, identity, hope, and everyday life, bridging generations while honoring his cultural heritage.
