Apple Music names Messiah4L as latest Up Next artist in Ghana
Apple Music has announced Ghanaian singer and songwriter Messiah4L as the latest musician to join its Up Next artist development programme in Ghana.

Messiah4L said the recognition marked an important moment in his career. “Being selected for the Up Next campaign is a huge honour. It means the world to represent Ghana on this kind of platform. To my fans across the continent, thank you for believing in me. 2025 is going to be a big year. Expect bolder sounds, deeper stories, and music that connects us all,” he told Apple Music.
The artist has gained attention with his debut EP You Ate Me, which examines themes of love, desire, and emotional intensity. The project combines Afro-soul, drill, and global influences, and includes tracks such as ‘Dear Kana’, ‘Hard to Love’, and ‘Faded’. His work is characterised by expressive vocals, atmospheric production, and a conceptual approach that frames romance as both consuming and vulnerable.
A central metaphor in the EP portrays the female muse as a “vampire of love”, not in the literal sense, but as a figure who absorbs the emotional world of her partner. The project positions Messiah4L among a growing cohort of emerging Ghanaian artists blending storytelling with experimental soundscapes.
As part of the Up Next initiative, Messiah4L will be featured on Apple Music’s Up Next playlist, which highlights emerging acts selected by the platform’s editorial team. The playlist is genre-agnostic and showcases new artists from around the world.
Apple Music’s global Up Next programme has previously spotlighted artists who have gone on to receive international acclaim, including 6lack, Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., Billie Eilish, Khalid, Mr Eazi, Stefflon Don, Bad Bunny, Juice WRLD, Burna Boy, Koffee, Megan Thee Stallion, Rema, Arlo Parks, Tems and others.
