The new project incorporate the classic Bob Marley track ‘War’, while offering a 21st-century reinterpretation of the late Jamaican legend’s enduring legacy.
“We’ve been chanting war for generations, it’s time we start chanting peace with the same energy because peace is power, and love is the only revolution that wins,” Don Dada said. “After all, love is a universal language.”
The single was produced by the iconic Blacker Dread, who has deep roots in UK reggae culture, and lends authenticity and history to Don Dada’s African message. Coordinated by Leroy Scarlett of Reggae Powerhouse Band, the track seamlessly weaves together authentic roots reggae instrumentation and Don Dada’s unique African reggae and hip hop cadence into one spiritual rhythm that unites the Caribbean and the continent.
‘Peace’ continues the lifelong creative mission of Don Dada, his signature commitment to peace, love, and unity. From his acclaimed double album The Heart and The Mind to his uplifting studio project Forward We Continue, Don Dada has been using music as a vehicle for healing and social transformation.
He added: “Peace is not passive, it’s action, it’s us choosing love when fear tries to divide us. The word that reaches furthest, the fastest comes from social influencers, and so I encourage Africans at home and abroad to use your voice and platforms to encourage others to come together as one and build that better and progressive Africa.”
