The Lagos edition featured a series of activities including a writing camp, an industry panel and a live music showcase. The programme aimed to bring together artists, producers and industry professionals, highlighting ongoing creative exchanges across African markets.
The four-day writing camp, held at Mavin Creative Studios, involved producers, songwriters and vocalists from across Africa and the diaspora. According to the organisers, more than 30 new songs were created during the camp, which was supported by Audiomack and 818 Tequila.
A panel discussion and brunch were hosted at Alara as part of the week’s activities. Attendees were offered a tour of the venue’s current exhibition before hearing from speakers representing various sectors of the creative industries. Panellists included photographer Trevor Stuurman; Audiomack vice-president Charlotte Bwana; Platoon creative producer Chloe Turner; Tilewa Yussef from Alara’s special projects team; and Meji Meji CEO and founder Tolu Oje. The discussion centred on career development, upcoming projects and the evolution of a Pan-African creative ecosystem.
The pop-up concluded with a live music showcase at Alara featuring performances by Nanette, Maestro and DJ Lag from South Africa, as well as Nigerian artists Sixseven, Rigo Kamp and Kraezy.
