Dtk Mwenelupembe
Bio
Dtk Mwenelupembe is a curator and creative producer who designs and delivers multidisciplinary projects that amplify marginalized voices across Malawi. As the director of Luso Labu, she specialises in conceiving and managing creative events, workshops, dance battles and community-led programmes, from strategic partnership building and fundraising to team management and programme evaluation. Her practice emphasises participatory curation: blending storytelling, artistic knowledge and creative activism to build accessible, intimate and impactful events and mentorship pathways for emerging artists in both urban and rural settings.
Alongside curatorial work, Dtk is a movement artist whose performance practice informs her afro heritage. Working across Afro-fusion, physical theatre, acrobatics and traditional African dance, she creates embodied works and choreographies that have featured at Lake of Stars, Tumaini Festival, Zomba City Festival and national events such as the Caravan of Hope. Through performance, teaching and facilitation, she uses art as a tool for expression and social change.
