Bio
Jay Music (real name Jayden Coetzee) is a platinum-selling producer and international DJ from Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. Introduced to music at the age of 10 through a family member, Jay quickly became obsessed with tools like FL studio and Virtual DJ. While his peers were outside playing, he was in his room practising beat-making. By 17, he was fully immersed in production and DJing, laying the foundation for his career.
Eventually, Jay’s hard work began to pay off. In January 2022, he dropped his first big song “Trip Sessions” which gained him recognition from artists such as Uncle Waffles, DBN Gogo and Unlimited Soul, which led him to his platinum certified song “The Fxckin Injury” featuring Mellow & Sleazy with over 5 million streams worldwide
Known for pushing the boundaries of Amapiano, Jay is carving his own lane with a genre-blending sound he calls DeepGrove, which stems influence from music genre’s such as jazz, hip-hop, kwaito, house, amapiano and gqom. For Jay, music was more than just a job, it was a way of life. He believes that music had the power to bring people together, to break down barriers and create connections. As he continues to produce and perform his music, he knew that he was part of a larger movement – one that brings excitement and happiness to people on a global scale.
In 2023, Jay did his debut tour, performing across the UK, a milestone that opened doors to subsequent tours throughout Europe and various African countries.
Between 2024 and 2025, Jay has been responsible for production on hit songs Magents (Khululu) by Mr JazziQ featuring Robot Boii, the Pikkewyne Remix by Meneer Cee, Mega, Chakie & Naiidy, Uyah by Uncle Waffles and 2wo Bunnies as well as Partii by Kamo Mphela, Que DJ, Aymos, and SpacePose
Jay remains committed to working on his craft and dedicating himself to his music, with the hopes of one day earning his place among the greats, a music legend in the making.
