SoundCloud partners TikTok to enhance music discovery experience
SoundCloud and TikTok have announced a new partnership that will see SoundCloud integrated into TikTok’s growing music discovery feature, Add to Music App. The integration aims to streamline the journey from song discovery to streaming, enabling users to save songs they discover on TikTok directly to their SoundCloud accounts.

The Add to Music App feature, which launched globally in 2024, allows users to save songs from TikTok to their preferred music streaming services. Since its rollout, it has facilitated over one billion track saves and billions more streams across supported platforms.
As of today, TikTok users will begin to see a new integration with SoundCloud, allowing them to save tracks directly to their Liked Tracks playlist on the platform. With more than 400 million tracks from over 40 million artists, SoundCloud is widely regarded as a key destination for emerging talent and niche genres.
This collaboration is intended to help artists and fans build stronger, longer-term connections. “SoundCloud has always been the go-to platform for discovering what’s next in music,” SoundCloud global head of music Emmy Lovell said. “Partnering with TikTok makes it easier than ever for fans to save the songs they love and stay connected with the artists behind them. This integration helps turn casual listeners into lifelong superfans while strengthening our commitment to fuelling the next generation of music culture.”
The announcement also coincides with the launch of Move Your Music, a new SoundCloud feature that allows users to transfer their music libraries, including liked songs and playlists, from platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Deezer, and Amazon Music. The dual rollout is designed to provide a seamless transition for fans looking to centralise their listening experience on SoundCloud.
TikTok’s global product partnerships lead, Lindsey Kelt Zikry, said: “Tens of millions of TikTok users take advantage of the Add to Music App feature to save the music they discover to their favourite streaming platform. We are thrilled to be partnering with SoundCloud, one of the leading platforms helping artists to bring their music from concept to audience, to support emerging and aspiring artists in reaching new fans and superfans.”
On TikTok, Add to Music App appears as an Add Song button next to a track name at the bottom of a video on the For You feed. When a user taps it for the first time, they are prompted to choose a streaming service, such as SoundCloud, as their default. This can be updated at any time via TikTok’s Settings and Privacy menu.
Once selected, the song is automatically saved to a default playlist on SoundCloud, and the platform becomes the user’s preferred service for future saves. The feature is also accessible from an artist’s Sound Detail Page, giving fans multiple touchpoints to store and revisit the music they love.
The partnership marks a continued evolution in how digital platforms collaborate to support artist discovery and fan engagement, as both TikTok and SoundCloud maintain their positions at the forefront of music innovation.
