Bio

Volley Nchabeleng was born in the village of Masemola (Thabampshe), Limpopo Province, South Africa. He studied music at the Sibikwa Arts Centre (2001) and the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Volley Nchabeleng was born in South Africa (1978), hails from the village of Masemola in the northern part known as Limpopo Province.

Multi-talented and versatile international percussionist. For the past 24 years Volley has been traveling the word as ambassador of indigenous knowledge worked with Drama for life for 5 years as playback theatre musician. His musical genius resonates from a rather versatile perspective and the influence of world diverse sounds; He played music and collaborated with many creatives across 6 continents.

 

Naledi Theatre Awards nominee for the best soundscape, Satma awards nominee for the best Sepedi album and 2024 winner of the outstanding artist of the year awarded by Minister of arts and culture. Volley was part of creative team for the soundscapes of the new tv series called Shaka Ilembe and many theatre productions.

 

He worked with international creative directors like William Kentridge and Aubrey Sekhabi of the South African state theatre, He served as ambassador of South African sound in so many international events like BRICS cultural festival (China), G20 orchestra (India) and Dubai expo just to name few.

 

Headliner of the annual Rhuhaniyat festival happening cross different provinces in India and conduct few school workshops as African music awareness workshops.
