SoundCloud Store launches with exclusive artist merch
SoundCloud has announced the first edition of the SoundCloud Store, allowing some of its Next Pro artists to create exclusive fan merchandise.
Next Pro offers artists full access to the SoundCloud for Artists programme, with unlimited uploads, free monthly mastering credits, global distribution, direct fan engagement, transparent fan-powered royalties, and easy revenue splitting with collaborators.
The company says this new move celebrates the bond between creators and fans and enables fans to show their support.
“SoundCloud knows that streaming isn’t enough – for artists or for fans,” a statement reads. “We also know the power of fandom, which is why we’re constantly working on improving how artists and fans connect and share through music.
“From fresh tees and hoodies to limited-edition accessories, the SoundCloud Store features unique artist merchandise that reflects the authentic connection between creators and listeners. Now you can look good while repping your love for music and supporting your favourite artists, beyond listening.”
Merchandise design is offered to select Next Pro artists with full rights, with items made to order and sold on the SoundCloud Store, incurring no upfront costs, and all profits going directly to the artists. The SoundCloud Store was launched alongside the release of merchandise from artists including US acts Wiz Khalifa, Denzel Curry, wolfacejoeyy, Bktherula and Armani White.
SoundCloud, founded in 2007, boasts over 400 million tracks from 40 million artists.
Subscribing artists are encouraged to apply to participate here.
