Mekbib Ayalew

Mekbib Ayalew is a technical assistant in the department of Social Affairs at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Ayalew holds a masters degree of arts in public policy and development management. He has been involved in assisting and managing the African Cultural Renaissance campaign – an initiative that is aimed at fast-tracking the ratification and implementation of the Charter for African Cultural Renaissance (CACR) and at promoting the spirit of pan-Africanism and shared values on the continent.

In addition, Ayalew monitors the implementation of continental cultural policies including the Plan of Action on Cultural and Creative Industries and Programmes at regional and national levels.
