Paballo Mothapo, known professionally as Pabi Cooper, is a South African platinum-selling artist. Born and raised in Soshanguve, Pabi is deeply rooted in family, dance music culture, and football. These influences played a significant role in her rapid rise to fame, driven by several viral dance moments that made her one of the most influential and widely followed young artists in South Africa today.
Her breakthrough came in 2021 with the release of her debut single, “Isiphithiphithi”, which quickly became a platinum-certified hit, selling over 20 000 units within a few months. The success of this single marked a turning point in her career, setting her on a strong upward trajectory in the South African music industry.
Building on that momentum, Pabi released her debut EP, ‘Cooperville’, in 2022, featuring some of South Africa’s most prominent artists.
