Monica Seeber

Bio

Monica Seeber was a publisher, author, researcher and consultant in the book publishing industry and the cultural and creative sector more broadly.

She died at the age of 80 on 19 July 2022 after a short illness.

Seeber specialised in copyright and was a passionate advocate for creators' rights and for recognition of their contribution to society. She worked for and with many cultural organisations, locally, regionally and internationally, including the Academic and Non-Fiction Authors' Association of SA (ANFASA) of which she was a board member; the Publishers Association of SA (PASA); DALRO and SAMRO, the Department of Arts and Culture; the African Publishers Network (APNET), the Zimbabwe International Book Fair; the British Council; Unesco; and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
