Kriol Jazz Festival

The Kriol Jazz Fest in Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, offers a selection of the best artists from the creole world for a programme based on exchange on both a musical and human level. Organized by Harmonia Lda in partnership with the council of Praia, the festival's main objective is to promote the Creole-inspired music from all the islands, whether in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Cape Verde, or Africa, the cradle of Creole culture. After paying tribute in previous years to the likes of Horace Silver, Code di Dona, Cesaria Evora, Manuel Clarinete and Morgadinho, it is Dany Silva who will be honoured in 2015. After launching in 2009 and staging successful editions every year since then, Kriol Jazz Festival in Praia is back in 2015 from 4-11 April.
