iSandi

iSandi is a South African singer, songwriter, composer and an instrumentalist ; an artist who also advocates the promotion of music literacy, integration, appreciation and its functionality. Her style fulfils the mind, mood and the soul, reducing the common stereotype that music only serves for dance purposes within the popular culture. She released her first EP titled -Intyatyambo- May 2022

Her- folk pop-like sound renders a beautiful combination of western or rather Afro- Experimental (Word) influence which makes it relatable to the ear across different cultural tastes around the world.

ISandi has shared stages with the likes of popular bands such as the Muffinz; South African music legend Vusi Mahlasela; Bongezile Mabandla ; Urban Village.
She has recently collaborated (2024) with artists such as Ramelo, Pedro Barbosa, Lia Elise, Ross Learmonth, SEVVEN, Me-Ko, Sonique Pitout, SeanJ, Mark Beling, and RADA. These collaborations form part of the upcoming RADA Unearthed EP Vol. 3.
One of the featured songs, ‘Together We Are Stronger,’ embodies themes of unity, resilience, and collective strength. More than just music, it is part of a broader movement to inspire social change through creativity, kindness, and solidarity.

The multi- instrumentalist, iSandi began her music career as a music teacher and a producer for functional music ( Film, yoga and stock music ) in 2005. In addition to performance and songwriting, iSandi also composes music for film and ambient spaces. Her YouTube channel, iSandi Ambient Soundscapes, features meditative piano and cinematic compositions designed for reflection and calm. She has since been involved in different musical programmes such as those that advocate music literacy in schools- primarily in various schools of Johannesburg including the recorder/ flute, classical guitar, harmonica and piano.
