Bio
Primarily, I am a recording and performing percussion artist from, and based in Uganda.
I collect samples from underrepresented, indigenous groups and communities in rural Uganda and use
these to record, release and perform "Bakisimbatronics" music, which is the term I use to
describe the genre of music I am making. ‘Bakisimba’ meaning a traditional dance from the central Uganda.
As I push my sounds to an international level, I have worked on sound mixes for radios stations
such as NTS radio (Uk London), Oroko radio (Accra Ghana), Callshop radio ( German) and alsoattended artistic residencies such as, Pro Helvetia Residency 2026 (Switzerland Geneva) ,
Kilele summit residency with Mina Music 2026 (Kenya Nairobi), and KLA Art festival by 32degrees 2024.
I have released on record labels including, but not limited to, East African Records and Kiyira
Records, and performed at venues including the UN Office in Geneva, and festivals includingNyege Nyege in Uganda and Kilele summit in Kenya, amongst others. At the end of 2024, I washumbled to receive a honorary mention for minority artists working on memory inthe present from the UN, in recognition of my work as an artist.
Alongside this, I am the founderand creative director of Tutabaale - a fashion brand focused on upcycling, and adding value to,second-hand clothing from Owino Market, to challenge the existence and extent of consumercultures, and their impact on the environment, in Uganda and beyond
