S'nazo
Bio
S'nazo is a 1x South African Music Awards (SAMAs) nominated Afro-soul artist born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, and currently based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the University of the Free State, majoring in criminology and sociology.
Nicknamed 'the Girl with Pipes' for her captivating vocals, S'nazo debuted her music in 2020 when she released 'Ntliziyo Yami', an Afro-pop jam produced by Afrotraction. Two years later, she dropped her first album titled 'I AM GOLD', which bagged a SAMA nomination in the African Adult Contemporary Album of the Year category. Shortly after releasing ‘I AM GOLD’, S’nazo received funding support from Concerts SA’s Digital Mobility Fund to shoot a live musical presentation of the album. Again, the full album enjoyed syncs on popular SABC 1 drama series, Skeem Saam, with her radio hit single – ‘Ngikhathele’ – being used as Skeem Saam’s soundtrack on a couple of episodes.
On radio, S'nazo’s airplay span commercial, PBS and local radio stations nationwide, including but not limited to Ukhozi FM, Radio 2000, Vuma FM, Umhlobo Wenene FM, Motsweding, Lesedi FM and more. She has also been invited to do unplugged sessions at stations like Umhlobo Wenene and Lesedi FM, creating deep connection with the stations’ listenership through her authentic sound.
A rising star, S'nazo has been featured on Mzansi Risers playlist curated by Apple Music, demonstrating her growth in the industry and appeal to music lovers. Again, she has charted on Shazam's Top 200 trending songs in South Africa.
As a live music act, S'nazo has been featured on line-ups for big festivals, outdoor shows and intimate gatherings, including two of the Free State’s largest festivals, Lemo Fest and CUFA Fest.
S’nazo’s sound is a blend of Afro-jazz, Afro-soul and gospel, and carries messages of love, hope and resilience.
