Christensen Mapuranga – Arts & Culture Project Manager
Christensen Mapuranga is an accomplished Arts and Culture Project Manager, creative consultant, and cultural entrepreneur with a strong track record of designing and leading impactful projects across Zimbabwe and the global creative sector. With extensive experience in project management, festival coordination, artist management, and arts education, he has dedicated his career to fostering creativity, resilience, and inclusion in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs).
He has coordinated high-profile initiatives such as the JMI Global Conference, served as Event Coordinator with Intwasa Arts Festival, and managed large-scale projects with Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe and Her Firstival, amplifying women’s voices in the creative industries. Christensen is also the Founder and Manager of Arts Hub Zimbabwe, a platform dedicated to nurturing innovation and collaboration among creatives.
As a consultant, he has contributed to diverse projects including the Phenominal Lighting Festival, 4theCity Project, CulxureMag, Sunduza Dance Theatre, and the Ibhayisikopo Film Project. His role as a lecturer in Film and Television Studies at Creative College of Africa and training facilitator with the Zimbabwe German Society highlights his commitment to capacity building, mentoring, and developing future creative leaders.
In addition to project leadership, Christensen has established himself as a trusted artist manager, having worked with renowned talents such as Noluntu J, Novuyo Seagirl, Qeqeshiwe Mntambo, Charles Mahlaba Banda, Godwin Ndlovu and Nkosilesisa Ncube, supporting their growth, branding, and visibility on national and international platforms.
Passionate about cultural advocacy, innovation, and gender inclusion, Christensen has spearheaded initiatives like Art in Adversity and the ReGenerate Project, advancing policy dialogue, creative resilience, and the professionalization of the cultural sector. His work has been featured on ZBC, The Chronicle, and Culture Fund platforms, positioning him as a leading voice in Zimbabwe’s cultural landscape.
With expertise in strategic partnerships, project design, and community engagement, Christensen continues to champion the power of the arts as a driver of social change, economic growth, and cultural pride.
