Zykes Magida

DJ/Music Producer, Events Promoter, Song Writer, Music Publisher, DJ/Music Facilitator, Mentor and Entrepreneur. He started being a DJ in 2007, Music production 2009 and started doing events in 2011. He opened his first company Zykes Entertainment as an Entertainment Agency and Zykes Magida Records as a Music/Record Label.

From 2014 at the end of each year he celebrates his birthday (26 Dec) with an Annual Tour with slogan [The Uniting Tour], which takes place in all weekends of December to unite Artists by featuring national, local and upcoming acts from the chosen town to host the concept.

In 2015 he started a movement called The United Tribes/Cultures, where in all events organized by his company and the ones they’re associated with, they feature artists from other provinces. 2016 him and a business associate opened a DJ Academy which produced more than thirty DJs, then in 2017 merged the DJ Academy with another business partner to provide more such as Music production, Piano and Radio Lessons till to date, including doing educational music workshops. 2018 he created a concept called the Urban Club's Music Tour, which take place for 3 months in Durban where he features different Artist Lineups and use different venues in selected weekends, this happens only in Urban Areas but it also has Editions for venues outside urban areas.
2020 he graduated as Music Publisher and started exercising what he leant in school then signed and mentored more artists. After the hard Covid19 lockdown heading to the festive season he organized big events like Maskandi Festivals for the 1st time in Eastern Cape and Mandeni (KZN) featuring multi award winning Khuzani and other Maskandi Artists. Created new concepts like iiMbokodo Festival, Frere Summer Party and The Spring Stunner. Later same year, he Introduced his 1st Home Coming Event as a Day and Night Picnic that takes place 26 December every year in his Hometown Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
In 2021 he was Nominated in 031 City Awards (Durban) for DJ of the Year and took 2nd place, in the same year he also ventured into the fashion industry where he designed and developed his own clothing merchandise named it after his stage name (Zykes Magida), offering fans and supporters the opportunity to connect with his brand beyond music. Then later made it an official clothing line with a slogan Different but Relevant and It offers different ranges from T-shirts, Golfers, Hats, Sweaters, Hoodies and Tracksuits.

One of his recent achievements is the release of his first EP titled "Gida Sounds", new Single “Kuzokhanya” and multiple song features, these projects showcase his creativity and musical talent, further establishing his presence in the industry. He also recently added a new successful concept under his belt which is a new years eve event in his home town on 31st of December 2024 called "Mthatha Last Dance".
